I just returned from a trip to las vegas and I enjoyed my stay at excalibur. The Sherwood Forest Cafe was a great deal on your wallet if you want to sit down for a good sandwich and fries, we didn’t order steak or anything like that so I can’t help there but the key is timing. Get there before 6:00am/pm to bet the big crowds.

Note: As of October 2007, this place is advertising $5 specials from 5PM-5AM. These specials include a breakfast platter, a cheseburger and fries, and an 8oz New York steak with mashed potato and vegetables.

No doubt the advertising all over the property helped, but word has really spread about these specials, because there’s a long line to get in every night around 5PM, even in the middle of the week when tourists have largely abandoned the town.

This is probably to the valley’s local bargain-hunter population, as I’ve never seen so much gray hair as I have in this restaurant at 5:30. Okay, I know that’s mean, but people complain about there being too many kids at Excalibur all the time, so can’t someone ONCE complain about there being too many old people? ;)

Still an average coffee shop by all Vegas standards, but watch out for the dinner rush hour.

SLOOOOOOW service when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Food was barely mediocre. The pit boss got me to eat here rather than the buffet – mistake.

Great place to eat. The food was good and its open 24 hours. My sister and I went here late after gambling for a snack a couple of times.

Pretty much anything you need it’ll do ya for. Some dishes better than others. I personally feel it’s one of the two better coffee shops in this section of the Strip now, although that could change.

My husband and I stayed at the Excalibur in sept 01 with our 6 year old boy, we ate at the Sherwood Forrest Cafe every morning.
The breakfast was excellent but any other meal there was lousy!
The service wasn’t great all the time the only thing I would really complain about is the time it takes to get a seat!
Although one morning we got sent straight through to the smoking section…first time being a smoker has come in handy!

If you plan it right and go at an odd time, you can get seated in 15 minutes. Then you wait for another 15 before someone takes you drink order. You have to be quick, the wait staff drops your off and starts to walk away. So if your smart place your order when you order the drinks. You might not see you waiter for 20-30 minutes. Then the real wait begins. The meal could take as long as 45 minutes. My Husband and I have stayed here at least 15 times in the past 6 years…it never gets any better.

You will stand and wait forever for a table, even though there are many that are empty. There reason is always that the area is being cleaned. (no one is ever spotted actually cleaning).
The wait-staff has been both excellent and really bad. Just the luck of where you are seated.

I usually order the chicken quesadillas which are yummy. My husband gets the full-house breakfast.

Keno girls run through on varied nights. It depends on if they have enough Keno help on that night.
